About Us – GICT Digital Green Initiative
Plant. Restore. Innovate

At the heart of the GICT Digital Green Initiative is a bold vision:
To grow 100 million trees by December 2025 while leveraging technology, community action, and education to create a greener, more sustainable future. Our initiative combines environmental stewardship with digital innovation, empowering schools, individuals, and communities to tackle climate challenges and drive meaningful impact.
We aim to:
- Plant and Restore: Reforest degraded areas, rehabilitate springs, and protect endangered tree species.
- Empower and Educate: Equip individuals, schools, and organizations with tools, knowledge, and resources to take climate action.
- Innovate and Collaborate: Leverage technology (AI tools, web portals, and mobile apps) and partnerships to maximize environmental impact.
How We Achieve This The GICT Digital Green Initiative integrates:
- Technology: AI-powered tools to identify trees, track planting progress, diagnose plant health, and calculate carbon credits.
- Community Engagement: Schools, community groups, and individuals collaborate in programs like tree planting, river rehabilitation, and eco-coemptions.
- Education and Resources: Video tutorials, user guides, and eco-hackathons provide skills and knowledge for effective participation.
- Completions and Challenges: Schools and individuals are encouraged to showcase green innovation and creativity through events and contests.
